Join Jamie Chrest (She/they), QueerProv's Artistic Director in this special improv workshop focused on the subtle, and the moments in between. The truthful silences that provoke us into our true being.
Workshops are pay what you can (suggested donation $10) and open to all levels, from beginners to experienced performers. Whether you perform, aspire to, or never intend to step in front of an audience, improv is a fun way to connect with community, and a great way to build communication skills. All are welcome, and we strive to maintain a safe, playful atmosphere. 💜
Content - We all try to behave in a safe, considerate manner, but because this is an improv drop-in for all levels, unexpected things can happen. Attendants are to respect the expectations of the workshop leader. Just try to be nice, eh?
Accessibility - Tightrope has an accessible entrance on the street level..
Sensory Info - Our practice room is susceptible to weather changes (warm on warm days, cold on cold days). Dress comfortably.
We acknowledge that QueerProv takes place on the unceded, occupied, ancestral and traditional lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
QueerProv is a not-for-profit society dedicated to creating queer community through improv theatre. 🙂
Kyra Philbert (she/her) is a compassionate mess. She loves playing, being queer and putting those strengths together to combat inequity. Kyra feels improv is a great way to strengthen our common humanity, build community and experience joy.
