SKILLS

For any improvisor or performer who's looking to add to their toolkit. Music, Clown, Mask, Sketch and more!

Sketch Fundamentals

with Lindsay Mullan

Monday February 3rd 6PM - 9PM

This class takes an academic approach to sketch with idea-generating exercises that harness and hone your improv skills!

In this workshop we will explore basic sketch theory and

knowledge. You will be analyzing classic sketches in pop

culture, breaking down narrative structure, and learning all

about premise, heightening, game of the scene, and how to

express a strong point of view in your writing. After learning the

creative rules and tools of sketch we will have a discussion on

the process of bringing comedic works to TV. Lindsay will

explain how a sketch writing packet for TV is made and she will

go over her step-by-step method of creating a TV pilot pitch

package.

Impulse & Play

with Becky Johnson

Monday February 10th 6PM - 9PM

Based on practices of physical theatre as well as various narrative improv forms, this one-night workshop will explore play (with one another, with the audience, with form...) as well as minute listening. We will explore small silences and gesture as well as large exuberance. Let's stretch the limits of where improv can take us!
