We are dedicated to ongoing learning, performer training, and meaningful community engagement. We embrace the idea that true knowledge begins with inquiry, from your personal history and interests, and that it is to be supported by teachers and artists who care about your growth, your enjoyment, your well-being.
Improvisation training is a practise that can enhance your performance or creative endeavours, and your life in unexpected ways. We provide a brave space where you can learn to inspire your scene partner, your community and your world.

This ongoing weekly course is focused on exploring improvised scene work. Investigate narrative form while remaining true to the moment in order to create strong and spontaneous theatre. This work will be sure to add to your skills as an improvisor, actor, writer, director, and collaborator for stage and screen.
In this workshop, students will rediscover the joy of performance through “Le Jeu” and clown. Studying “Le Jeu”, students will learn to play, develop complicity, gain sensitivity and embrace taking risks. As clowns, students will learn how to break down the fourth wall and connect with their audience. They will learn to embrace the “flop” and find the freedom to fail. Inspired by the pedagogy of the French clown master Philippe Gaulier, this workshop is for all types of performers: actors, clowns, comedians, improvisers… Anyone who wants to get out of their head and follow their impulses.
All of our In-Studio classes take place at the Tightrope Theatre 2343 Main Street.
